The third Workshop on Driver Assistance Systems took place in Walting, Germany 6-8 April. Presentations focused on driver assistance systems, sensors and data fusion and customer acceptance. The Workshop was organised by the University of Karlsruhe and Audi.
As an outlook on Cooperative Systems, a paper on foresighted driving was presented. The use of foresighted information from maps and vehicle communication enables an electronic horizon that helps the driver to drive safely and easily adapt to traffic.
IP PReVENT participated in the event, presenting a paper which describes the activities its WILLWARN and MAPS&ADAS subprojects, as well as lessons learned from the work done in parallel in the German INVENT project.
