RttF's pilot projects' Demonstration Day

What is the impact of in-car technology on the Information Society? What are the benefits for traffic safety and traffic management? How can technology stimulate desired driving behaviour? And how are such technologies embedded in existing infrastructure systems like traffic control centres?
Roads to the future (RttF), the innovation programme of the Dutch Road Authority Rijkswaterstaat, examines the influences and possibilities of these aspects in three pilot projects:
· Belonitor: using in-car technology to change the drivers habits by rewarding the preferred behaviour;
· The Assisted Driver: a demonstration of what Advanced Driver Assistence systems can mean with respect to the comfort and safety of the individual road user and the roll of the road manager. Two systems (Advanced Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keeping- or Departure Warning Assistant) will be demonstrated.
· Roadwise: a demonstration of the options and consequences of offering far more information in the car, including traffic management-related information, such as route information and speed restriction warnings
