Objective and focus
The ADASIS initiative was first launched by Navigation Technologies in May 2001 and is run since 2002 as an ERTICO Forum paving the way of MASP&ADAS activities by initiating the definition of open standardised Interface between ADAS applications and positioning and digital map data. In February 2004, developments have been transferred to MAPS&ADAS project within PReVENT IP and the ADASIS Forum has a new role as User Forum to support and promote MAPS&ADAS activities and future implementation of results. Membership of the ADASIS Forum is open to all public and private organizations that have a clear interest in ADAS Interface Specifications and which support the objectives of the Forum.
Membership is geared to the following sectors with respective 2005 Members:
- Vehicle manufacturers : BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, Honda, Opel, PSA, Renault, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo Tec, Volvo car
- Navigation systems manufacturers : Alpine, Blaupunkt, Navigon, Siemens VDO Automotive
- ADAS manufacturers : Continental Temic, Bosch, Denso, Hella
- Map database manufacturers : NAVTEQ, Tele Atlas, Zenrin, Michael L. Sena AB
Approach
In MAPS&ADAS, ADASIS Forum members will serve as a User Forum. Beside the Members that are subproject partners, the non-funded Members can support the development, dissemination and consensus building of the ADAS Interface Specifications. Their contribution will be at least the review of subproject deliverables (peer review). Forum Members have access to all subproject results relevant to the ADAS interface.
