Organisation
IP PReVENT's research has been structured into a set of subprojects, which in turn are partitioned into a set of workpackages, each having well-defined work contents, partnership and resource allocation.
There are two types of subprojects, cross-functional and application-oriented.

The cross-functional or horizontal subprojects aim to achieve integration by harmonisation on specific technical areas. The application-oriented subprojects develop, test and validate safety functions.
The management of IP PReVENT is organised in 3 levels:
The Core Group is responsible for the steering of the IP, handling conflicts and monitoring technical excellence. Membership in the Core Group consists of seven vehicle manufacturers (DaimlerChrysler, BMW, Renault, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Ford, CRF, Volvo Technical Development), three automotive suppliers (Siemens VDO, Delphi, SAGEM and Bosch) and one research institute (INRETS).
The IP management team consists of the IP Coordinator (DaimlerChrysler) an IP Operations Manager (ERTICO) and an IP Controller (IMC). The IP management team guides the subprojects, facilitates the cooperation between subprojects and performs the day-to-day management.
The subproject leaders are responsible for the technical progress in their respective subprojects and report to the IP management.
