Technical Abstract
Goal of the SafeLane subproject is to develop a situation adaptive system for enhanced lane keeping support. The first step in this direction is a precise system specification. This is the content of the available report. It comprises all system requirements as a basis for the later system design, development and evaluation.
The report starts with a rough system concept that is necessary to talk further on about the functionalities, features and components of the system to be developed. Then it describes general system requirements arising from the state-of-the-art in accidentology, traffic, vehicle technology, and system technology. At next, the use of component-specific requirements is enlightened. And, finally, all necessary system requirements are formulated in the form of structured tables.
The requirements comprise system and component features to be achieved by the development, driving situations to be handled by the system and actions to be carried out by the system. The situations and action are connected with each other by defined transition and behaviour structures.
