D50.40 Functional requirements and System Specification
The long term goal of the subproject APALACI is to achieve measurable improvements in terms of reduction of accident number and severity. APALACI develops advanced pre-crash and collision mitigation applications including the development of innovative and robust sensor fusion techniques. The system prevents accidents by monitoring the area close to the vehicles and mitigates the severity of unavoidable collisions by activating semiautonomous braking and improving the control of restraint systems to get the best protection of car passengers. APALACI will utilise a different set of sensors, different sensor data processing approaches and different application approaches as compared to COMPOSE.
The present deliverable defines and describes the functional requirements and system specifications to achieve improved Prefire and Pre-set functionality for reversible and non-reversible safety devices, to accomplish integrated, actuator-powered longitudinal collision mitigation systems, and to develop warning SP Deliverable PReVENT APALACI PR-50400-SPD-040731-v1.3-D50.40_Func Reqs and Sys Specs 5 facilities including start-inhibit function for trucks.
