Distributed Power Control for Reliable Broadcast in Inter-Vehicle Communication

In this paper we present an inter-vehicle communication system that reuses existing WLAN technology for safety related applications. In order to maximize throughput and minimize latency in the presence of hundreds of nodes, the protocol has to be adapted to reach acceptable performance in typical road scenarios. This paper highlights the specific communication requirements for a message dissemination application in a highly mobile scenario and focuses on one of the most challenging problems: reliable broadcasting.
